Fr. Bryan Timby is well-known for his exotic, homemade jams, jellies, pickles and salsas. They are available in the church vestibule after every liturgy during Ordinary Time.

Fr. Timby also leads the efforts of the parish youth group to raise funds through bake sales for various spiritual events throughout the year.

Who is Our Lady of Sorrows?

We are historical!

image617

Our Lady of Sorrows has been ministering to the Catholic people of north Shelby County in Tennessee since the year 1915 when permission was granted to Father Stritch (later Cardinal Stritch) to celebrate one weekday Mass a week in the neighborhood of Frayser.  Today, we are approximately 200 households/families of many cultural backgrounds, mostly Latino.

Meet Jesus Face-to-Face

image618

OLS is founded on a deeply held belief that Jesus in present among us: in our gatherings, in the priest who presides over our worship and teaches us the  our Faith, and most essentially in the Holy Eucharist, the Real Presence of Christ among us that we receive in Holy Communion.

Christ LIVES!

Here at OLS we celebrate our commission to make Jesus Christ present in the world today. We do this by active ministry to children, the poor, the elderly, the home-bound, those who seek refuge in shelters, immigrants, strangers, and those who are hungry for a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior.

There is a place for YOU at OLS!
